1.  DNA Laboratory Design And Setup

Personal Genetics offers decades worth of expertise in DNA laboratory design and setup1.
This includes:  
 
  1. Design of state of the art, turnkey DNA Laboratories
  2. Supply the facility with the necessary instruments and modern DNA and RNA testing equipment
  3. Supplement the lab with the initial shipments of reagents and testing kits
  4. Provide written QA/QC protocols as well as safety procedures

2.  Mobile DNA Laboratories
 
Personal Genetics will design and setup customized mobile DNA laboratories for use in applications such as:
  • Rapid on-site testing for emerging infections such as the avian (bird) flu, West Nile Virus and other public health concerns.
  • Clinical DNA diagnostics in remote sites
  • Environmental on-site DNA-based rapid testing (e.g. testing well water, beach water, swimming pools, drinking water, etc.)
  • Educational Mobile Labs: these labs go between cities, villages and towns where high school children can have hands-on experience with DNA, RNA and Proteins as part of their curriculum.

3.  Technical Laboratory Consultation Services

  • DNA / RNA Isolation and Banking. Personal Genetics has extensive expertise in DNA and RNA isolation, purification and banking from a variety of sources. We will help you identify the most appropriate technology for your application as well as troubleshoot any issues that may arise. This service is intended for a wide range of clients including biomedical research institutions, biotechnology companies, zoos and animal research centers, endangered species research centers, animal breeding centers, plant breeders, ...etc.
     
  • Custom Test Development. There is currently a significant need worldwide for rapid development of DNA-based (molecular) tests that have become of great value not only to the clinical diagnostics needs of hospitals and medical centers, but also to other markets such as public health, environmental testing and veterinary diagnostics laboratories.

    Personal Genetics will help you in your development project on a consulting basis and will provide its significant expertise in MDX test development for many applications, including clinical and animal diagnostics, public health, human and animal genetics, and environmental testing and tracking.
     
  • Disease Surveillance and Outbreak Investigations. We have extensive expertise in applying DNA technologies for pathogen surveillance and disease outbreak investigations. Our knowledge and experience in state of the art DNA-based surveillance and fingerprinting technologies is applied in several fields,including Public Health (e.g. food-borne infectious outbreaks, viral outbreaks) and Environmental Health (e.g. identification and quantification of human or animal pathogens in the environment).
4.  Training

Personal Genetics offers comprehensive and custom-tailored training programs for laboratory scientists and professionals who need training in DNA-based testing.
These programs may include any or all of the following components:
  1. Basic training in molecular biology and DNA laboratory techniques
  2. Technology-specific training such as DNA isolation methods and PCR
  3. Equipment training (operating and maintaining equipment)
  4. Advanced topic specific training (e.g. Diagnostic DNA analysis)
  5. QA/QC training
  6. Troubleshooting
  7. Laboratory safety training
  8. Personnel certification: we monitor the accumulated experience of laboratory scientists and guide them through the appropriate certification process.

  3. A customized training program will be developed, with a final draft approved by the client.
